Colder Days

College = Success?

I just got off the phone with my sister and she was a little worried about the next steps. She told me that she wanted to work remote…. don’t we all?

I told her that she may need to get a little more educated to do that. Why is that? She is intelligent. Smarter than the average dumb dumb, I suppose.

Start a business?

A side gig?

I think that is how we need to think instead of figuring out who to work for next.

I like to say these things but I haven’t had a side gig in a few year, one that actually produced over >$2000.

I am just a regular dumb dumb, that collects one paycheck on a weekly basis and it sucks. Your twenties are the time to take action to set up the rest of your life. Every cent you save now, ultimately turns into huge amounts of money later on. So the more cash you get on your balance sheet the better. Olivia is right on track and she has nothing to worry about. We are frugal Italians, we save money without even trying….

However, I think that top end growth to salary is important though. An increase of a few percentage points while keeping the same savings habits will help you explode.

Back to the topic at hand. What is a risk of a few thousand dollars on a start up. I told her to start selling bread, she is a pretty good bakery. A wholesale baking operation would be an easy way to collect some divis, with the potential for growth. How hard could it be?

I have had a few ideas in the past but nothing came to fruition because I never jumped. I have a very cautious personality and it takes a long time for me to make decisions…. However, Ill be the first one to pull the trigger on an ETF I like, or a bond….. What is the difference between losing money on a stock verses a random start up….. literally nothing.

I have a $5000 goal for a side a side gig this year, I am not sure what it will be yet and we are approaching the end of Q1.

I think if me and Olivia put our minds together, we could formulate something. Family support….. comes back to bite me in the ass again…… classic……

  1. Having money is all about options for me. Working when you don’t need the money is just better. Hate your job, get one you like regardless if you make more money, Hate the whole field.. take a few years off and go back to school and learn something else.
