Flying Ratios

If you think about it, time actually accelerates as you get older. Think about the ratios. If am 5 years old, one year is 20% of my life. Thats a lot of time. When you are 15, a year is about 6 percent of your life. When you are 80, it is only 1 percent of your life. So on a ratio basis, a year becomes a less significant portion of your life. It’s not rocket science to understand this.

Just be careful though, because a year will fly by and keep accelerating as you get older and as your habits become more habitual. This is why we need to spice it up all the time. Always change it up even, if you are extremely comfortable. I have these two roommates and all they do is stay in their rooms all day long, literally all day long every day. I don’t understand them. I think they used Covid as an excuse to stay inside. If you do that, you will miss out on what goes on elsewhere.

Out of pure chance, I was in Denver last night for opening day of the Rockies season. I bought a six pack of beers at a local liquor store and the game was on. I asked the manager when they started their season and boom he said today… It was a fucking party and a half. I haven’t seen that many people together since The Philippines. There was thousands of people on the streets of Denver, MASKLESS.

After I picked my beer, I met up with a friend. We walked North of the stadium and looped back. Everyone was out. Motorcycles, Supercars, Rockies Jerseys, and the smell of weed littered the streets. They closed off a few streets due to the game. There something really special about walking down that street in the midst of everything that I cant quite get put my head around. People were out, like in a normal society, like how it should be.

I tore off my fucking mask, reached into my bag and pulled out my Colorado hat. I was a part of that, April 1, 2021, the first day of the Rockies season. I am proud of that. I have never done that before.

After that, we made our way to Denver’s park where some dudes were hitting the frisbee. I joined them for a proper 45 minute toss. I enjoyed my Local Hazy IPA from Durango, CO while the sun sat in front of me. Yes, I have tried over 100 different beers in the last year and I am proud of that. I am proud to be a Coloradan. While my ratio keep decreasing, my experiences WILL increase.
