Boulder Day

Now that I live in Broomfield, having a Boulder Creek day has become a once a week event.

I started the day off with three sunny side up eggs, two pieces of toast and some tea. After listening to a podcast and eating my simpleton breakfast, I grabbed my to-go bag.

I left by 9 and headed up to Boulder on route 128, the scenic route. I chose this route not because of the beauty but because my car misfires at around 65 miles an hour. So I have been taking the car on side roads in order to avoid this. 128 brings you right past a small airport near Boulder which is pretty cool. It takes about 40 minutes…. much slower than the 20 minutes on the highway.

Every time I drive on that road, I picture myself on a BMW K75 ripping to the mountains. This drive to Boulder is prettier than most drives in Connecticut. That reminds me, I need to make a list of things to do before I get my motorcycle….

Anyway, I found a parking spot near my old house and took my bike into town. My friend, Orie said she was going to be in Boulder so I tried to coordinate with her. But it was phone tag all day long.

The first thing I did when I got to Boulder was grab a coffee. I went to my normal coffee shop but there was so many people there. So I proceeded to rip to foreign territory. I found a place that was on Pearl Street and ordered a flat white, my favorite pour. It wasn’t on the menu but the lady knew how to make it. I was pretty impressed. It wasn’t as good as an Aussie flat white but I’ll take it.

I wrote a couple of letters, one to Maria and one to my sister. After that, I went to the same spot I made a pool at the previous week. I disassembled the old pool and made a new one, a better one.

Week old pool
New and improved pool

I took me about an hour to make it. I ended up staying there about two and a half hours in total. I usually stay longer but the clouds came in and it got a little bit cold.

I pumped up the tires on my bike and proceeded to do a little bike ride. I’ve never explored the North Western portion of Boulder so I hit that today. The houses is up there are pretty awesome…

While I was ripping down a street and making my way onto a bike path, I popped a tire. It was the rear one. I don’t know what I was doing but somehow I went right into a 3 inch curb. I was about 2 miles away from my car and I didn’t have any bike tools to fix it… I’m so mad because I have been trying to get new tires and tubes for that bike for the last 2 weeks but they have been sold out. Bastards…

It ended up taking me about 30 minutes to get back to my car. I did ride the bike with the flat. The bike hated me while I was doing it. Once I reached my car, I popped it in and headed for the creek again. Orie said she was there, right next to Broadway. I stopped over there for a while and hung out with her and her friend. I had a long day and decided to drive home after a few minutes of conversation.

I had a shift tonight 12 to 10:30 in the morning. I needed to take a nap before hand.

I am currently in the garage right now eating my dinner. I cooked some fish, asparagus, and rice. Now I have to go inside take a shower and sleep a few hours before work. Peace out.
