Wake up, have breakfast, get a day bag ready and then realize you have no way to get to the mountains.
This has been a huge issue for me, and my happiness. My car has been acting up, that bastard. I recently put some money into it and what do I get, a new problem. A misfire that I probably shouldn’t have driven on for the last week.
I am so over it. Old cars suck, especially the one I have. She needs new tires, new struts and a pretty aggressive vacuum job.
The less stressful route would be to fuck it, and go buy a new car, or one that is slightly used. The reason I am in Colorado is to hike and to drink craft beers after hiking. That is all, literally that is all.
When something or some object comes in the way of this, it makes me very unhappy. I have 23 more 14ers staring at me with no way of conquering them. I want to take a sledgehammer and destroy that car. I will literally drive to Home Depot buy a sledgehammer and murder that car. Just completely murder it, smash everything that I can smash. Maybe I could run it in a Kentucky Derby type deal. That would be a fun way to say goodbye. Goodbye you piece of shit. Bon voyage mother fucker. Anything that gets in the way of me hiking 14er needs to die.
A new car would have its benefits. Would it really cost more in the grand scheme of things? Less headaches, more hiking, that is all I need.
